 Part Two / Whiting Hooks

These are the hooks I use

There two distinct types of hooks used for whiting

Suicide and Straight

To explain this it’s simple the suicide is a hook with a short shank sometimes with a slight offset of the shank

Straight has a longer shank but not classifies as long but straight no offset

Examples are Shaunasey and Aberdeen.

To confuse the issue they are in some cases made with an offset and a squaring of the bottom of the hook giving a wider bit

In this photo these hooks have a straight shank and are the standard whiting hook in size ranging from size 2 to size 8

Above is a circle hook this is becoming the queen of whiting fishing as it’s a hook designed to catch fish using science and craft and require a new thinking where the strike of the bit is now removed and the dropping of the tip of the rod and the slow lift or just a turn of the reel sets the hook as it slides into the corner of the mouth of the fish

It takes some getting used to not to strike as you get a bite but with practice you can out fish others with this tecneek

This hook is a circle hook using a sucide designe with the inturned barb

Some circle hooks are in other hook designs and work just as well having the same success

Now not all hook are the same size a size 8 in one stial will be different to a size 8 in another styal its just a way of the makers to make their hook different in a way its just like bying shoses not all sizes are the same you have to get the one that feels good and dose the job

Hooks are the same

Jay(long shanked hooks that resemble a j) hooks are also a hook that I supply they are primerly for worm or clikers srimp bait but again it’s the fishermen who have tried them in other variants and now fish with them as a standard primarerly they are easyier to take the hook out of the fish because of the longer shank and for those who don’t like touching the fish they work well

I use them on gar

Its because of the fact that taking the hook out is easier and they are a measy fish you can scale the fish while removing the hook its measy but practable use of this hook

I only use red hooks

Why because you guys want red coated hooks and with my eye site its easyier

Tying hooks and trace line is next
